The MSC Footbal Academy has become a cornerstone of community sports and youth development, and much of its success is due to the unwavering dedication of its outgoing head, Hussein Jaffer, affectionately known as Shenu.
Over the years, Shenu’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the academy into a respected institution that continues to inspire young members of our club,
Since taking on the role of head of the academy in 2016, Shenu has worked tiredlessly to create a space where young boys and girls can develop not just their fotball skills, but also important values such as teamwork, descipline and perseverance.
Under his guidance, the academy has flourished, growing to over 150 players who now look forward to training every Saturday. His efforts have transformed the academy into a gold standard within both the community and sports club.
The academy’s success is a true reflection of Shenu’s hard work, commitment and passion for youth development. It’s also a testament to the outstanding coaches he has assembled, all of whom share his vision of nurturing talent and instilling a love for the game.
The atmosphere Shenu has cultivated is one of excitement, learning and camraderie, where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
As the academy celebrates its growth, Shenu has made the decision to step down and allow the next phase of its journey to unfold under new leadership. Recognising the importance of continued growth and fresh perspectives, he has decided that now is the right time to pass the baton.
The transition will take place over the upcoming month of Ramadhan, ensuring a smooth handover that allows the academy to maintain its momentum and vision for the future.
Masoomin Sports Club extends its deepest gratitude to Shenu for his incredible service, leadership and the legacy he leaves behind. His contribution to the club and community cannot be overstated, and his passion for youth development will continue to inspire all who are fortunate enough to work alongside him.
Being a part of Masoomin Sports Club has been one of the biggest privelages on my life. I am thankful to Allah s.w.t, the club and the community for this wonderful opportunity. The football academy has been a big part of my life for the last decade and it hasn’t been without its challenges. I would like to give a special mention to fellow coaches who have been an integral part of the journey, most notable Mujafer Ibrahim, Muneer Ladak and Shabir Jivraj, without whose presence in the early days, the task would have been much more difficult. Finally a huge thanks to my family, my wife Zainab and my 3 children, Aliakbar, Asiya and Fatimah, whose support has been immense. I wish Abbas all the best and pray that we continue to grow to greater heights. — Shenu
As we bid farewell to Shenu in his current role, we are excited to introduce the new Head of the MSC Football Academy; Abbas Meghjee – an ardent coach and supporter of the club for decades. While Shenu’s legacy will forever be a part of the academy’s foundation, we look forward to Abbas’s leadership as the academy continues to evolve and reach new heights.
We are confident that under his direction, the MSC Football Academy will continue to thrive and provide young athletes with the opportunities to grow and succeed.
